Dr Michael Teixido

Michael Teixido is a native of Wilmington, Delaware, USA. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Loyola University of Chicago in 1990 and continued his education with a sub specialization in neurotology at Northwestern University, Southern Illinois University, and the University of Chicago. Since 1991 he has been in neurotologic practice at Christiana Care Health Services and Nemours DuPont Hospital for Children in Delaware, USA. Dr. Teixido has clinical appointments at Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel College of Medicine, and the University of Pennsylvania. He founded programs for adult and pediatric cochlear implantation in Delaware. He is a member of numerous professional societies related to otology and neurotology, regularly presents nationally and internationally and holds numerous editorial board positions. He has contributed many peer-reviewed publications to the medical literature and has also developed surgical instruments and middle ear prostheses that are in clinical use. In addition to his direct teaching activities Dr. Teixido has developed web-based teaching materials used by patients and physicians worldwide. His special interests include manifestations of migraine in Otolaryngology and BPPV. His downloadable BPPV Viewer has been used by himself and others to create novel treatment maneuvers for BPPV.
