Dr Rachel Care is a Head and Neck surgeon working in Ōtautahi at Christchurch Hospital and in private practice. Rachel gained her medical degree in the United Kingdom and moved to New Zealand in 2010 where she undertook specialist training in Otolaryngology. Following completion of training she completed a fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Facial Plastic Surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Her clinical interests include Head and Neck Surgery, in particular transoral laser microsurgery, salivary and voice disorders and facial plastic surgery. Rachel has completed a Masters in Clinical Education, she is passionate about clinical teaching and is involved in setting the part 1 training exams. Rachel also has a keen interest in clinical governance, she has held several posts within committees of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, including a co-opted member of the College Council. She is currently the NZSOHNS representative to the RACS Professional Standards and Advocacy Committee and a member of the Foundation for Surgery. |
